Who we are

Latteria Bera is a historical dairy, just three minutes from Piazza Castello, heart of Turin.

The products of the italian food and wine tradition, particularly those of the Piedmontese territory, have been the undisputed stars of our store for over 60 years. We select, tell and publicize simple but unique products for craftsmanship e quality.

A passion that until now has always been all at the female, passed down from grandmother to granddaughter. In 1958 my grandmother Romola decides to take over the small dairy with the help of his two sisters Marta e Bruna. In 2016 the management passed to me, Chiara, who with the help of the lifelong saleswoman Evelin I carry on this great little project made up of tradition and passion.

We have received several awards over the years including “Impresa Storica d'Italia” and “Maestri del Gusto,” which have helped make the store one of the outposts of the’excellence in turin. Generations pass, but the passion and sensitivity in keeping traditions and real contact with customers intact does not change.

As a food enthusiast first and then a gastronome, I was fascinated by the reality of Latteria Bera. Care, passion, continuous research, kindness, helpfulness and authenticity are some of the characteristics found in the figure of Chiara.

An authentic old-fashioned store run with experience and devotion from time immemorial. In this store you can find the top Italian cheeses (with a few surprises even from abroad!), selected one by one and only after meeting the producer and evaluating his method and product. You enter for the cheeses, are enchanted by all the delicacies on offer, and leave with a walking whipped cream...there is no comparison in charm, history, and expertise.

I discovered this little place only recently, and what a discovery it was....it is not only the senses that are stimulated, from smell to taste to sight, but also and above all reasoning, because the very courteous and knowledgeable sales clerks explain, illustrate, make you understand what you are buying: what is the history of a certain cheese, what a certain charcuterie company produces, why that particular panettone, and so on; in a word, food culture is made. And at the time of the bill, the price is fair.

This is a historic store in the heart of Turin where you can find true wonders for the palate. A truly exceptional selection of D.O.P. cheeses, niche sausages, anchovies from the Cantabrian Sea and a thousand other delicacies. The management is family-run and all-female, and Chiara, the youngest, organizes cheese and charcuterie tastings, like the one last night, that are mouth-watering. don't miss the fresh whipped cream that is processed with an authentic planetary machine and is exquisite.
